This tells me that certain XP function is not there to support the install of my printer. I also ran HP Scanning Diagnosis, which gave several errors:ġ) unable to scan using the Windows Imaging service. I had probably deleted critical files necessary for the system. My next attempt is to perform chkdsk /r /f, and see if I could restore any critical files that I might have deleted when I uninstalled the printer program/driver the very first time. This time, it didn't seem like it was blocking anything, as I had checked the exceptions, and nothing was blocked. This is a dejavu of when I was trying to install a language program, which was blocked by my Bit Defender Antivirus, which was blocking the program. Luckily, I regained my printing capabilities back.Įven in the Add/Remove Programs, it does not show Hp Psc 1315v there, which means that although I manually selected the printer driver, I still have not installed the programs necessary to conduct scanning, etc. I had manually installed the printer driver by Plug and Play, where I manually selected the driver location. Partial Solution I have reached, which still does not solve my problem: This means that my machine is purposely targeting the HP installation, and forbidding it from loading. I had tested it out other non-related CD's, which works perfectly. I manually explored within it, and double clicked on the Setup, but it just displays the sand clock for a second, and then disappears and does absolutely nothing. Luckly, I found my installation CD, but to my surprise, even the installation CD would not load.

I have also tried downloading other forms of installation (including Basic install, as well as Japanese version full install).Įvery one of them resulted in the same stagnation. I have tried using HP's Driver/Software Uninstaller, which brings up a command prompt that deletes every remainings of the installation. I have tried rebooting, etc, for the past 15 hours. When the bar gets to 100%, the bar disappears, and does absolutely nothing. When I rebooted, and tried to install, the installation package would not go past beyond the % status bar. I had also uninstalled through the uninstaller, which prompted me if I wanted to delete the other files that could be used by other programs.

I only did this because a certain print job would just not go away. I needed to delete the printer from "Printers and Faxes" by right clicking it in selecting delete, which I should not have.
